How to distinguish between the front and back of fabrics?

1. Generally, the pattern and colour on the front of fabrics are clearer and more beautiful than on the back. (Some special fabrics may be the opposite, so you can choose according to the use situation).
2. Fabrics with stripes and patterns are clear and pleasing to the eye on the front side.
3. Convex and dimpled fabrics: the front is tight and delicate, with stripe or convex patterns; while the back is rougher, with longer floats.
4. Pilling Fabrics: For single-sided piling fabrics, the piling side is the front side. For double-side piling fabrics, the smooth and neat piling side is the front side
5. In general, the smooth and neat side of the fabric edge is the front side.
6. For double or multi-layer fabrics, if the warp and weft densities on the front and back are different, there is generally a higher density on the front or the material on the front has a better texture.
7. Leno fabric: The side with clear patterns and twisted warp is the front.
8. Towel fabric: The side with high density of loops is the front.
9. Printed fabrics: The side with clear patterns and bright colors is the front.
10. Whole piece fabric: Except for export products, the side with instructions or trademarks and factory inspection seals is generally the back side.

Note: Most of the fabrics have obvious differences between the front and back, but there are also some fabrics with almost identical front and back, and both sides can be applied. So it is not necessary to distinguish between the front and back side of the fabric.
