If textile fabrics are not used for a long time, they will slowly become deteriorated. If the fabric deteriorates, it will not only affect the quality and appearance of the product, but may also pose a potential threat to the health of consumers.

1. Get Mildew

The textile fabrics themselves contain a certain amount of moisture and abundant oxygen, which is an important condition for the growth and reproduction of mold. As for the textile fabrics themselves, some substances attached to their raw materials and during the processing process, such as cellulose, protein, starch, colloid, etc., are nutrients for the survival and reproduction of mold.

Preventive measures: 

During the production, processing and circulation process, storage and storage should take measures such as ventilation, dehumidification, sealing, cooling, moisture-proof, and heat-proof to keep the fabrics clean, dry, and low temperature. Spraying antibacterial drugs can be taken.

2. Insect Infestation

Wool fiber fabrics composed of protein fibers are easily infested by insects. Although cotton, linen and synthetic fiber fabrics do not contain protein, they will also be infested by insects if there are residual substances in the processing process or on the packaging.

Preventive measures:

Keep the fabrics clean, dry and ventilated to prevent oil stains from contaminating the fabrics. Put insecticides such as mothballs on clothes at home, but mothballs should be packaged in a layer of non-woven fabric to prevent mothballs from contaminating clothes.

3. Yellowing And Discoloration

Fabrics that have been bleached and processed, are not cleanly soaped or dechlorinated, are stained with sweat, are not fully cooled during ironing and are packaged with heat, so that the fabrics absorb moisture excessively or are stored for too long, too humid, and poorly ventilated, all of which will cause yellowing to varying degrees. Some textile fabrics processed with direct dyes will also change color from dark to light due to wind and sun exposure.

Preventive measures:

The warehouse should be ventilated and moisture-proof, and the fabrics should be stored in places where they are not exposed to direct sunlight. Fabrics displayed in windows and containers should be replaced frequently to avoid wind stains, fading, yellowing, etc.

4. Brittleness

Improper use of dyes and chemicals and improper printing and dyeing operations will cause fabrics to become brittle. If the fabric is exposed to air, sunlight, wind, heat, humidity for a long time or comes into contact with corrosive substances such as acid and shout, the fabric will become brittle and lose its strength and gloss.

Preventive measures:

Heat and light protection. The fabric should be stored in a ventilated place that is not exposed to direct sunlight. And control the temperature and humidity of the storage.
