What is Compact Spinning and its advantages, disadvantages and applications

Compact spinning is a new spinning technology on the improved new ring spinning machine. Its core technology is to install a gathering device at the output end of the front roller, so that the whiskers are gathered and then output twisted to achieve the separation of drafting and gathering, avoiding the influence of the gathering effect on the friction distribution in the drafting area. The width of the drafted whiskers is reduced after gathering, so that the twisting triangle is reduced or even eliminated.

Compact spinning technology has successfully solved the yarn hairiness and flying produced by ring spinning, improved the yarn strength and abrasion resistance, and the yarn appearance and physical properties have been greatly improved. Compared with ring spinning, it has obvious advantages in terms of yarn quality and output. The application of compact spinning technology has entered the promotion stage, which is mainly used in cotton and wool spinning, and also has a small amount of application in hemp spinning.

Advantages

• Less Hairiness

The hairiness of ring spinning is mainly occurs in the twisted triangle, while compact spinning cancelled the triangle area, so the hairiness is greatly reduced, which is 70% to 80% less than ring spinning.

• Fine Yarn Evenness

The fiber straightness in the silvers is improved, and the evenness is better.

• Abrasion Resistance

Compared with ring spinning, the fiber arrangement of the compact spinning yarn is neat and straight. The yarn structure is compact and the fibers are not easy to disperse, thus the yarn has good abrasion resistance.

• High Strength

Compared with ring spinning, the strength of compact spinning yarn is increased by 10-25%.

• Good Resistance To Pilling

The fabrics produced by compact spinning yarns have less hairiness on the fabric surface, and the anti-pilling performance is obviously better than that of traditional ring spinning.

• Low Twist

Due to the increase of strength, the yarn twist can be appropriately reduced, generally 20% lower than the ring spinning twist, which can improve the yarn yield.

Disadvantages

Large Investment In Equipment

The cost of compact spinning equipment is higher, which increase the investment of spinning mills and results in higher start-up costs.
